Springdale Invites Community to Celebrate America’s 250th Anniversary with Summer-Long Series of Events

SPRINGDALE, Ark. — The City of Springdale is inviting residents and visitors to join in a summer-long celebration of America’s 250th anniversary with a lineup of family-friendly events honoring the nation’s history, community spirit, and patriotic traditions.

Throughout June and July, America 250 Springdale will feature story times, parades, concerts, community art projects, aviation displays, classic cars, fireworks, and special events designed for residents of all ages.

“America’s 250th anniversary is a once-in-a-generation milestone that gives us the opportunity to celebrate our nation’s history, honor those who came before us, and look forward to the future,” said Mayor Doug Sprouse. “We invite everyone to join us this summer as Springdale comes together for a season of remembrance, celebration, and community.”

The celebration begins on June 18 with the America 250 Elementary Storytime at the Springdale Public Library, where children in grades K–5 can enjoy themed stories, crafts, and commemorative photos.

Rodeo Week festivities kick off on June 24 with the annual Rodeo of the Ozarks Pancake Breakfast at the Springdale American Legion Building, followed by the beloved Rodeo of the Ozarks Parade through Downtown Springdale.

On July 1, residents are invited to participate in the Time Capsule Locking Ceremony at Springdale City Hall, commemorating the city’s past, present, and future. The capsule will remain sealed until July 4, 2076.

One of the summer’s most anticipated events, Stars, Stripes & Steel: Touch-a-Truck/Aircraft, will take place on July 2 at the Springdale Municipal Airport. Attendees will have the opportunity to explore Arkansas Army National Guard Black Hawk helicopters, emergency response vehicles, heavy equipment, and specialty trucks while meeting the crews who operate them.

The Independence Day celebration continues on July 3 with the Fourth of July Eve Concert featuring Dial Up, one of the region’s favorite ‘90’s party bands, at Luther George Park. The event will include live music, food vendors, games, contests, and a fireworks show.

Baseball fans can enjoy the 4th at The Field Fireworks Spectacular following Northwest Arkansas Naturals games on July 3 and 4 at Arvest Ballpark, featuring one of the region’s largest fireworks displays.

On July 11, residents can start the day with the Patriotic Pancake Breakfast & Bingo Extravaganza at the Springdale Senior Center before heading to the Springdale Municipal Airport for Helos, Wings & Wheels, a family-friendly showcase of aviation, classic cars, helicopters, emergency response vehicles, food vendors, and hands-on activities.

The summer celebration concludes with the Ozarks 250 Block Party at the Shiloh Museum Grounds, featuring live music, food trucks, historical demonstrations, exhibits, and activities highlighting the Ozarks’ contributions to America’s story.

Throughout the summer, visitors can view the America 250 Community Flag Mural on Emma Avenue, an 8-foot by 10-foot American flag mosaic created entirely from photographs submitted by community members.

All events are open to the public, with many offered free of charge.

The celebration is made possible through partnerships between the City of Springdale, Downtown Springdale Alliance, local nonprofits, community organizations, and civic institutions.
