Downtown Springdale Alliance Selects Three Additional Artists for Mural Grant in Downtown Springdale.  Grant Funded by the Arts Center of the Ozarks.

Springdale, AR – The Downtown Springdale Alliance has awarded three more matching grants to local artists to create murals in downtown Springdale. The matching grants are funded by the Arts Center of the Ozarks through their Spark Projects which seeks to invest in the Downtown Springdale Arts District.

The Spark Projects were established in response to accelerated growth in downtown Springdale as a way to continue to advance the arts during a time when performances and activities remain limited by Covid-19 restrictions.

Mural applications were received and reviewed by a committee of artists and non-artists. The committee also worked to connect the artists with downtown Springdale property owners. Downtown Springdale Alliance is delighted to award the following artists with mural grants from the Arts Center of the Ozarks:

Carol Counce

Erin Ashcraft

Bekah Haught

These awards come just weeks after four artists were awarded matching grants from the Walton Family Foundation.

“It’s a time for bold moves,” says Bryan Gott, Executive Director of Arts Center of the Ozarks. “The Arts Center of the Ozarks is committed to supporting the long-term growth of the arts in downtown. The Spark Projects will nearly double the matching funds available to artists and support our mission to support and grow artistic culture in downtown Springdale.”

“In addition, to the monies in the mural project grant, the Arts Center of the Ozarks is also providing supplemental funds for the larger mural by Octavio Logo on Holcomb Street,” says Gott.

The murals are due to be completed on or before May 15th.
